Black NORYL™ Tubing

PBS Plastics is pleased to offer custom tubing and profiles extruded from NORYL™. Beneficial characteristics of NORYL™ include low mold-shrinkage, low water absorption, excellent dimensional stability and very low creep behavior at elevated temperatures.

This versatile plastic is also known for ease of fabrication in machining, thermoforming, bonding, or ultrasonic sealing. These properties, combined with outstanding hydrolytic stability in hot and cold water, make it an excellent candidate for fluid engineering applications.

The NORYL™ family of modified PPE resins consist of amorphous blends of PPO™ resin (polyphenylene ether) and polystyrene. Along with the inherent benefits of PPO resin (such as affordable high heat resistance, good electrical properties, excellent hydrolytic stability and the ability to use non-halogen fire retardant packages), these amorphous polyphenylene ether resins demonstrate superior dimensional stability, good process ability, and low specific gravity. [NORYL is a registered trademark of SABIC Innovative Plastics IP B.V.]

NORYL™ has outstanding retention of tensile and flexural strength, even at elevated temperatures. The gradual reduction in modulus with increased temperature displays a key advantage of this material. As a result, parts fabricated from NORYL™ may be used with predictable performance over a wide temperature range.

NORYL™ exhibits first-rate electrical properties, which remain stable over a wide range of temperature, humidity and frequency variations. This stability, together with a fine-tuned balance of thermal and impact properties, make it an excellent candidate for demanding electrical and electronic applications, including electrical insulators.

All flame retardant NORYL™ resins are designed with non-brominated and non-chlorinated flame retardant systems.
